HR ASSISTANT (NAIROBI)
Based in Nairobi, the HR Assistant (a Kenyan National position) provides substantial administrative support to the running of the Human Resources Department, facilitates the flow of information within the department, and provides additional technical support to the recruitment, compensation and benefits, and learning and development functions in the ICRC Somalia Delegation’s HR Department.

Your Responsibilities
• Performs a variety of administrative duties and follow-up in support of the HR department ensuring that the administrative work is implemented within established timelines and in accordance to procedures;
• Maintains accurate and complete physical/electronic/archived personnel and general human resources files;
• Responsible for absence management;
• Supports the monthly payroll processing and other compensation and benefits processes;
• Supports recruitment processes including preparing job advertisements for vacant positions, shortlisting, phone pre-screening, participating in oral interviews, and the selection decision, and making job offers, in accordance to procedures;
• Ensures consistent information flow for HR issues within his/her area of responsibility;
• Replaces the HR Officers during their absence.
Your Profile
• University degree in Human Resources or IHRM Higher Diploma;
• 2 – 3 years’ relevant experience in a busy HR department; IGO/NGO experience is an asset;
• Excellent written and spoken English communication skills;
• Computer literate with very good knowledge of MS Excel, MS Word & MS PPT; HRIS experience is an asset;
• Strong intercultural skills including openness to and tolerance of different cultures/religions/opinions;
• Possessing a strong degree of integrity, including the ability to appropriately handle confidential information;
• Highly motivated individual with the desire to make a difference;
• Willing to travel frequently to Somalia;
• Good knowledge of the political, social and cultural context of Somalia;
• Knowledge of Somali language is an asset;
