Business Development Manager – Nairobi – Corporate Staffing Services

Our client is a recently set up international company in Kenya that specializes in supply of building materials and interior design projects for high end residential and commercial construction.

Reporting to the Managing Director the Business Development Manager will be responsible for raising the profile of our clients through establishing market penetration in Commercial and residential projects in the East Africa, generating new business opportunities through contacts, networking and association.

Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement comprehensive sales and marketing goals, strategies, and plans
Explore markets within East Africa for business opportunities and develop quality leads that can be converted to profitable business.
Develop relationships with subcontractors, engineers, architects, government and high profile individuals through networking and attending meetings with peers within the industry.
Document meetings through creation of Contact Reports, Design Briefs etc. and maintain a paper trail for all projects.
Fully engage clients in order to sell our clients services, ensuring maximum profit and revenue for the company.
Manage clients expectations through liaison with internal departments, keeping clients updated on project developments and building sustainable long term client relationships.
Coordinate with internal departments and chase the team to deliver the client requirements on schedule and to the highest standard.
Responsible for the collection of all own client payments, liaising with Commercial team and MD to ensure all necessary steps are being taken to recover funds.
Attend networking meetings with Business Groups and Industry peers
Develop a client database with up-to-date information on market trends and competitors
Submit daily and weekly reports including but not limited to progress reports on calls, proposals and visits carried out.

Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in sales and marketing or related field
Preferably a lady, at least 28 yrs old
Should possess a valid driving license and a car
Must have working experience not less than 5 years in sales of construction materials & Interior design services
Extra if having Architecture or Interior design background
Working knowledge of MS office suite
Should possess a car and a valid driving license
Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
Should be presentable and well composed
Knowledge of market research and sales forecasting principles and methodologies.
Ability to develop and manage sales and operating budgets.
Ability to compile and analyze statistical data, draws inferences, and prepares strategic
