Business Development Manager – Nairobi – Flexi Personnel Ltd

Our client, Carrefour is one of the largest French hypermarket chains in the world with 1,452 hypermarkets at the end of 2011 and more than 21,000 employees from more than 68 nationalities.

Carrefour is venturing into the Kenyan market and seeking to recruit a high caliber, results-oriented and self-driven Business Development Manager to join their team in the capacity below.

The ideal candidates should have worked in a property management firm in a similar capacity.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities
Locate potential upcoming mall developments, discovering and exploring new opportunities strategic for Carrefour.
Work with the management in closing of new deals and manage the already existing company properties
Sourcing of suitable locations in shopping malls or stand alone in line with retail concepts
Analyze financial situations to determine risk, reward, and opportunity for the company.
Ability to close deals by coordinating requirements; developing and negotiating lease agreements and integrating contract requirements within business operations.
Development and management of strong relationships network development firms
Data mining, due diligence and follow up:
Participation in the evaluation of the pre technical and security requirements on sites in cost efficient perspectives
Full due diligence of prospective sites to ensure demographics are in line with company requirements
Feasibility studies to ensure a positive Payback based on financial requirements
Project management: coordination of different stakeholders

Skills
Good communication skills, ability to work in multi-cultural and international environment
Willingness to spend time exploring neighborhoods on site, view new sites, meet with potential landlords / developers.
Ability to meet strict deadlines, experience in project management and in handling multiple projects
Team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Self-motivated, dynamic, well organized and ability to work under pressure
Ability to meet travel requirements, when applicable

Qualifications
At least a BA in a relevant discipline (Construction management, business administration, real estate or related disciplines)
At least 4 years of business development experience in the property sector
Well versed with Microsoft Excel, Word and Power point
