Country Director – Nairobi – International Child Resource Institute Africa

Reporting to: International Child Resource Institute U.S. Headquarters

International Child Resource Institute Africa (ICRI-Africa) is a Nairobi – based NGO with programs focusing on early childhood education, grassroots advocacy, child protection, and community economic empowerment and development.

We are seeking a dynamic individual to serve as our Country Director in the following capacity: comprehensive program and fiscal oversight, supervision and management of staff, program development and long term planning, and fund development with a focus on relationship building and cultivation of potential funders.

As a key ICRI-Africa leader, you would serve as the chief representative of the agency in various fora including local/regional/national governments, local/regional/national/international NGO sectors, the media, and in direct interactions with members of local communities.

You would also serve as the direct liaison between ICRI-Africa and ICRI U.S. through regular communication with ICRI U.S. Executives and office staff as well as monthly finance and program reports.

Requirements:
Passion and enthusiasm for ICRI’s mission/cause: improving the lives of children and families throughout the world
Leading while doing – willingness to do any of the work that others do, to be a partner in the work, and to encourage the family spirit of our work in Kenya
Experience in the NGO sector, preferably in a field relevant to early childhood care and education, child and family services, and/or grassroots community development
Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to manage and mentor staff to achieve goals
Strong verbal and written communication skills
