General Manager – Nairobi – Fanisi HR Solutions

Our client, a Manufacturing Company in FMCG, is looking for a General Manager for one of its Brands.

The company has a regional presence in East Africa and manufactures a range of products being market leader in some products / brands.

Job Summary: Reporting to the C.E.O, the General Manager is responsible for all the branch’s operations and strategic targets.

The right candidate must demonstrate experience and skills across all business functions including Sales and Marketing, Finance, Managing teams and Product Development.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Lead the team in strategy execution. Manage the development of teams and individuals
Responsible for the whole recruitment process from need identification, interviews to hiring.
Set and help meet Sales and Marketing targets
Manage supplier relationships and distribution channels
Oversee Financial processes, ensuring healthy cash flows and that cost cutting measures are implemented
Remain up-to-date with industry and market development and ensure the operations remain relevant
Establish budgets, allocate resources and measure results
Ensures processes and policies are followed
Builds Company image by collaborating with customers, government, community organizations, and employees; enforcing ethical business practices.
Maintains quality service by establishing and enforcing high standards.
General Manager Skills and Qualifications:
Must have not less than 5 years in senior management position and at least 3 at Operations or GM level.
Must have experience in FMCG overseeing all functions – Managing teams, Production, Sales and Marketing, Finance, logistics etc.
Must demonstrate strong leadership skills
Should be conversant with financial management and planning
Should have excellent decision making and quality management skills

A Masters degree with at least 5 years’ experience or a Bachelors degree with over 7 years in senior management position.
