Head of Human Resources – Nairobi – Deloitte Consulting Limited

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Head of Human Resources will develop and deliver people management strategies which support the Company’s overall strategic objectives making a contribution at both strategic and operational level in order to identify HR priorities and recommend appropriate people management solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
Developing, implementing and maintaining HR policies and procedures to ensure effective, fair and consistent management of staff throughout the company;
Preparing, implementing and monitoring of the annual HR Plan to support the overall strategic aims and objectives of the Company;
Developing, guiding, and advising on structure, optimal staffing, reward/compensation, recruitment, transfers, termination, training, performance management, and talent management of all staff within the Company;
Preparing and controlling the approved HR operations budget;
Identifying global best practice to keep the USL HR function and the organisation as a whole updated;
Providing policy advice and guidance on industrial and employee relations matters and maintaining industrial peace and harmony in the Company;
Advising management and line managers on employee relations matters, labour regulations, and emerging industrial relations trends;
Maintaining cordial relations and consulting widely with the Unionised staff, Federation of Kenya Employers, Industrial Court and the Ministry of Labour;
Managing investigations, disciplinary and grievance matters;
Ensure development and implementation of the performance management systems; and
Leading the HR team to deliver all planned and agreed department and individual performance targets to ensure that the HR department is efficient and value adding to the Company.

Personal Specification
Bachelors’ degree in Business related field;
At least seven (7) years’ experience at a senior management level in a large and complex organisation;
A member of IHRM; and
Demonstrated record of excellent negotiation, people management and communication skills.
