The role holder will report to the Head of Trading and is responsible for effective delivery of foreign exchange revenue while maintaining continuous engagement with the sales team so as to create synergies and wider product reach.

The Role
Specifically, the successful jobholder will be expected to:
Manage the Bank’s currency positions with a view to ensuring that all positions are properly documented and revenue targets are met within prescribed limits
Manage the positions generated by the corporate and retail & SME transactions and ensure profitable covering of all transactions affecting the Bank’s currency positions
Carrying out market survey, intelligence and technical analysis to establish market expectations on trends for key currency pairs.
Actively contribute to improvements in quality/efficiency of treasury products delivery processes.

Qualifications, Skills & Attributes
The successful jobholder will be required to possess the following skills and competencies:-
A Bachelor’s degree in a Business related field with at least 4 year experience in banking, two of which must be in direct foreign exchange & money market trading and treasury operations.
Good understanding of micro and macroeconomics to interpret likely currency and interest rate trends both locally and on the international markets.
Knowledge of local and international market events and their likely impact on currency and interest rates.
Excellent numerical skills twinned with an active and avid interest in finance & trading.
Excellent negotiation and decision making skills as well as be an excellent communicator with the ability to set and meet stretched targets and deadlines.
Good understanding of the CBK and Banking prudential guidelines and their implications on the organization.
ACI dealing certificate is an added advantage.
