Mechanical, Electrical & Instruments Manager – Cameron LNG – Hackberry

Primary Purpose
Incumbent provides directly and through subordinate positions, engineering expertise, capital planning and execution expertise and mechanical reliability maintenance services for the facility. The position works closely with other staff to provide mechanical engineering services. Incumbent also provides directly and through subordinate positions, engineering expertise, capital planning and execution expertise and instruments and controls maintenance services for the facility. Works closely with other staff to provide instrument and controls engineering services where needed. Incumbent manages all LNG Plant electrical personnel and provides directly and through subordinate positions, engineering expertise, capital planning and execution expertise and electrical maintenance services for the facility. Works closely with other staff to provide engineering services where needed. Position reports to Director, Maintenance.
This position is located in Hackberry, LA. Transportation Worker Identification Credentials (TWIC) is required.

Responsibilities/Duties
20% – Actively manages the mechanical, instruments and controls and electrical maintenance team. Assures all planning, scheduling and managing all mechanical, instruments& controls, electrical engineering activities related to plant facilities are coordinated and performed safely and efficiently.
15% -Provides daily mechanical, instruments and controls and electrical support to the plant to keep the plant systems operational. Ensures sufficient and suitable resources and equipment are available to complete correctly all mechanical, instruments and controls and electrical work. Improves and ensures the reliability and integrity of the mechanical, instruments and controls and electrical systems.
15% -Serves as a plant expert on mechanical, instruments and controls and electrical system engineering issues and develops knowledge of all the systems by working closely with the others in the group.
15% -Provides daily mechanical support to the plant to keep the plant systems operational. Ensures sufficient and suitable resources and equipment are available to complete correctly all mechanical work. Improves and ensures the reliability and integrity of the mechanical systems. Optimizes the mechanical, instruments and controls and electrical systems for efficiency and equipment reliability.
10% -Serves as a plant expert on mechanical system engineering issues (not limited to risk engineering, systems integrity and applicability to specifications, philosophies and standards) and develops knowledge of all the systems by working closely with the others in the group.
10% -Develops or supports the development of proposals for facility improvements including design basis and preliminary estimates for capital projects as assigned. The position co-ordinates mechanical, instruments and controls and electrical activities for all operational projects and new developments from conception to completion – keeping costs in line with budgets and the schedule on time.
10% -Ensures that documentation for the mechanical, instruments and controls and electrical systems is maintained properly. Incumbent participates in the development of documentation standards including updates to the unit operating manuals. The position participates in the Management of Change process. Uses computer assisted engineering and design software to perform engineering tasks and develops documentation.
5% -Assists in developing and managing budgets and schedules to meet financial targets with an understanding of the accounting and procurement procedures and guidelines and abides by them.
Performs other duties as assigned

Education
Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science in Engineering preferred
Experience
A minimum of 6 years in a similar maintenance position within the petrochemical industry and at least 2 years of experience in a similar position of responsibility and expertise in an operating LNG liquefaction facility of similar magnitude and design REQUIRED.
Proven track record in trouble shooting and analysis of instrumentation and process engineering system problems.

Skills/ Knowledge/ Abilities
Possesses good oral and written communication skills.
Able to work with a culturally diverse group of technical individuals whose skills cover the range required to engineer, operate and maintain the LNG receiving terminal.
Have basic computer skills including project management, database, and use of Microsoft Office programs.
Possesses good planning and organization shills and meets work deadlines.
Possesses the personality and ability to relate to and to establish a mutually respectful relationship with 1) management, 2) peers and 3) the various facility level workers whom are all responsible for ensuring good operations.
Must be willing to be on call and work overtime as required.
Must be willing to travel for factory acceptance testing, training, etc. as required.
Provides leadership and discipline expertise to less experienced support staff, engineering design, maintenance, and operation groups. Self-starter with ability to work strategically under little direction;
Strong attention to details;
Ability to assist in development of employee training programs and their evaluations;
Ability to address personnel HR issues from a viewpoint of fairness and practicability;
A participative leader that offers opinion and direction when appropriate or required;
Some knowledge of training requirements for various operations/maintenance functions
Knowledgeable in safety requirements(OSHA, PSM)
Physical Requirements
Must be able to stand, walk, climb, run, sit, kneel, twist, bend, pull, push, carry, lift, reach overhead and drive. Most activities involve movement of either the upper and lower body extremities or both and the joints associated with these areas of the body.
Must be able to enter confined spaces.
Must be able to climb stairs and ladders that ranges from 4 ft to 200 ft.
Must be able to lift equipment needed to perform work.
Must be able to wear safety equipment such as safety harness, respirator and other protective equipment as needed to perform job.
Must be willing to be on call, work overtime as required and handle emergency response responsibilities.
Must be willing to travel for trainings as required.
