Field Coordinator – International Livestock Research Institute (ILRI)

Responsibilities
Work with the project’s co-investigators to develop work plans and activity schedules, and ensure that materials, supplies and other inputs needed for these activities are procured in good time
Supervise the implementation of all the project activities including field and laboratory work
Develop and administer a system for reporting and evaluating progress of the project activities
Work with the project team to fix any challenges and issues that might arise in the process of the project implementation
Participate in information dissemination and other communication activities that promote the utilization of the knowledge generated by the project
Participate in the project meetings and conferences

Requirements
MSc degree in epidemiology, public health, animal health, biological sciences, or a related field from a recognised university
Demonstrated record of research leadership including study design, field work, data analysis and dissemination of results
Excellent knowledge on qualitative and quantitative techniques for data analysis
Documented evidence of working in multidisciplinary teams and partnerships
Excellent written and verbal communication skills demonstrated through research articles, conference presentations, manuals etc.,
Knowledge of animal health and zoonosis

Terms of Appointment
This is a Nationally Recruited Staff (NRS) position; based at Nairobi, Kenya and open to Kenyan nationals only. The position is on a 3-year contract, renewable subject to satisfactory performance and availability of funding.

Job Level
This position is at job level HG 13 and open to Kenyan nationals only. ILRI offers a competitive salary and benefits package which includes; pension, medical and other insurances for ILRI’s Nationally Recruited Staff.
