Human Resources Manager – Lwala Community Alliance

Responsibilities
Develop, implement, and oversee innovative and progressive hr policies and procedures that ensure consistency in work performance, decision making and reporting
Advise and guide management on all HR function decisions and offer support in handling employee discipline
Develop, implement, and oversee performance management system (I.e. annual reviews, promotions, career planning, professional development, staff training)
Develop, implement, and oversee staff recruitment and hiring system including creation of job descriptions, position recruitment, interview process and tools, and hiring
Develop, implement, and oversee onboarding, and orientation processes. Improve or create any supporting tools an materials (I.e. orientation handbook, code of conduct, leave policy, employee handbook, and other HR related policies)
Enhance the culture and creating ownership of the organizations values, vision and mission
Prepare annual HR budget and foresee the department’s needs and plan for the same.
Coordinate health and safety at workplace
Manage periodical review all employee contracts/ offer letters to ensure compliance with organizational policy, Kenya labor laws and to ensure that contracts are understood and the organization is legally protected and employee contracts are binding
Provide timely and accurate staff payroll details while ensuring they are paid correctly, legally and in a timely manner
Prepare HR data and performance measurement reports to the management.
Other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Skills
Relevant university degree in human resource management.
Minimum of 5 years experience as a HR Manager or other leadership HR position
Experience working as a consultant on HR related projects
Demonstrated ability to create, implement, over oversee HR systems
Proven cross cultural communication skills through work with other international organizations
Experience using Microsoft Word and Excel
Ability/desire to be a team player and servant leader
Ability to take initiative; a highly motivated self-starter with desire to make a difference
Excellent cross-cultural communication skills – ability to communicate clearly and effectively with people from the U.S. in person and at a distance.
Ability to think both creatively and strategically
Willingness to commit to 6 month consultancy contract
