Project Coordinator for Large Monitoring – Nairobi – International Business & Technical Consultants Inc

International Business & Technical Consultants, Inc. (IBTCI), a US based international development consulting company established in 1987, has worked in over eighty-five countries and has implemented over one hundred and fifty projects. IBTCI has served governments, private sector companies and several donor agencies in several practice areas and is a leader in providing Monitoring & Evaluation, services in non-permissive environments.

IBTCI is recruiting for a Project Coordinator for a large, multi-country monitoring initiative in East Africa. The countries covered may include Burundi, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Djibouti, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Kenya, Rwanda, Somalia, South Sudan, Tanzania, and Uganda. The purpose of this program will be to provide independent monitoring, verification, and confirmation of funded international development and humanitarian aid programs implemented in East Africa through various qualitative and quantitative methods, including conducting surveys, key stakeholder interviews, and focus group discussions at project sites.

The Project Coordinator will be responsible for managing the data collection and data verification activities. The Project Coordinator will coordinate the field activities, train the data collection staff, supervise the database management, verify the data collected, and ensure accurate data is submitted on time and according to the requirements. The Project coordinator will also be responsible for managing fieldwork logistics for the program.

Qualifications:
The Project Coordinator must have at least 5 years of experience in the humanitarian, transition, or development field, including extensive use and application of qualitative inquiry methods and results
He/she must have extensive previous experience working in one or more of the following countries: Burundi, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Djibouti, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Kenya, Rwanda, Somalia, South Sudan, Tanzania, and Uganda.
Ideally, he/she should be from one of the countries listed above
The Project Coordinator must have a university degree
The Project Coordinator must have excellent oral and written communication skills, analytical skills, interpersonal skills, computer skills, and team management skills
Ability to interact with public, private, and civil society leaders and groups concerning data collection and surveying for project verification and monitoring
