Quality Assurance Manager – Horticulture Exports

Job Roles & Responsibilities:
Responsible for inspecting, evaluating and selecting produce fit for export.
Ability to work in field and farming conditions.
Interpret and ensure regulations and HACCP standards are met.
Ability to determine source of quality variance and take action correcting the process and product.
Ensure systems are in place to make certain that vendors are capable of meeting quality expectations.
To provide leadership and expertise on the company’s’ Quality Programs to ensure that the product is formulated and manufactured in accordance with customer and company quality requirements including all Regulatory guidelines and requirements.
Establishes monitors and maintains quality control system working with other Quality Personnel.
Identifies critical points in the manufacturing process and defines sampling procedures.
Supervises inspections of raw materials, materials in process, and finished products.
Designs and implements policies and procedures for testing and evaluating the precision and accuracy of products and/or equipment.
Direct supervision of the Quality Assurance Department
Provide leadership, training and support to all employees on Quality and GMP issues
Conduct GMP, sanitation, regulatory and quality audits
Interact daily with all managers to accomplish key goals
Review quality trends, track root cause of quality failures and coordinate corrective actions
Maintain Quality Systems programs
Maintain compliance with quality assurance programs, policies and procedures relative to plant, customer and governmental and auditing agencies
Maintain compliance with plant safety standards and policies regarding OSHA safety regulations

Education & Skills Required
Bachelor’s degree programs in quality assurance or manufacturing management
Certification and strong application skills in HACCP and GMP’s
5 years of experience in quality assurance within the horticultural industry
Prior produce experience dealing specifically with vegetables.
Strong time management and problem solving skills.
Self-motivated and proactive.
Keen analytical skills with the ability to make sound decisions and problem solve.
Attention to detail with strong organizational skills.
Personal accountability.
Effective interpersonal and communications skills, team player.
Ability to multi-task.
Be able to set priorities, meet deadlines and able to accomplish team objectives.
