Engineering Supervisor – Kenafric Industries – Nairobi

The main responsibilities
Oversee Mechanics Schedules and Job Orders by assigning jobs to shift artisans, mechanics,Electricians,Refrigerator technicians
Creating work schedules & ensuring that coverage for possible machine breakdowns is always maintained.
Evaluate shift artisans, mechanics, Electricians & Refrigerator technicians, Work and Performance.
Supervising, inspecting machinery installed and repaired. Ensure that logs of machines are repaired, and maintenance are maintained.
Ensure Compliance with Safety Practices, by reviewing the safety practices and ensure that all shift artisans, mechanics, Electricians, Refrigerator technicians are following company and OSHA safety guidelines, creatingsafety programs and conduct safety training.
A Mechanical Supervisor conducts inspections & Ensures safety procedures are being adhered to & maintainsinventory of machines parts
Create work performance reports, document the production of mechanics by inspecting logbooks and monitoring job notifications
Assist management in direct oversight of department’s daily operation.
Participate in assigned long-term preventative maintenance programs and projects.
Involve in department’s routine operations by handling repairs and assisting management with administrative duties.
Perform major repair of hired mechanical systems.
Prepare process plans for new parts, time studies and prepare quotations for parts.
Determine equipment required and justification through conducting feasibility studies.
Ensure coordination with Engineering Manager, manufacturing team, quality, and maintenance departmentson manufacturing concerns.
Decide on equipment’s, materials, and subcontract sources.
Supervise installation and initial startup of engineering equipment.
Perform and record machine tool capability studies.
Identify and debug for production problems as needed.
Modify processes to enhance operation productivity.
Assign, train, develop and supervise work of engineering department.
Ensure accident estimates are prepared promptly, repairs are done timely and liaise with surveyor.
Develop relations with external customers on improvement work.

Ability to work independently, with little or no supervision
Good Computer knowledge on MS Excel, word, among others.
Good mathematical skills
Excellent analytical skills
Able to apply written instructions to machine set-up and maintenance.
Ability to identify opportunities and establish new initiatives
Ability to work long hours and on shifts.
In depth knowledge of OSHA legislation and procedures.
Knowledge of potentially hazardous materials or practices.
Experience in writing reports and policies for health and safety.
Familiarity with conducting data analysis and reporting statistics

Minimum Qualifications:
A Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in an engineering field(Either electrical or Mechanical option).
Minimum Experience:
5 Years minimum Experience in Manufacturing Industries.
