MEAL Intern – Nairobi – Save the Children

Background
SCI has been operating in Somalia for over 40 years implementing integrated interventions in the sectors of food security/livelihoods (FSL) , nutrition, health, education, child rights governance, child protection and WASH. One of the country program commitments is to ensure evidence based programming where interventions are grounded on sound and accurate data collected from areas of operation and representing the views and aspirations of our target beneficiaries.

The MEAL supports different sectors to put in place systems to collect project data as well as its analysis in order for analysis outcomes to be used in decision making whether it is in improving program quality or in new program design. The MEAL department is seeking an intern to support this work. Reports to: Head of MEAL

SCOPE OF ROLE:
This is an exciting opportunity for young dynamic Kenyan nationals seeking to obtain on the job experience in data management, monitoring, reporting and program support and be part of a motivated multinational team of experts. It requires a dedicated and highly motivated individual who is willing to learn at the same time being able to provide much needed support to SCI Somalia

KEY RESPONSIBILLITY:
Provide administrative support to the Head of MEAL in planning and implementing a Baseline study for the Enhancing Resilience and Economic Growth in Somalia Program.
Check data workflow on the mobile data collection platform for the above baseline and on ONA for any other SCI studies conducted during this period to ensure consistency
Support the organization of an online MEAL shared folder and its access by all MEAL/PDQ team members as appropriate.
Support sector specific data management needs that are at the Country office as specified by respective section/program heads such as nutrition and SNS.

Other duties:
Comply with and promote Global Policies such as Child Safeguarding, whistle blowing, fraud and safety ;
Any other duty as assigned by the supervising managers QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

· University degree
· Strong written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to operate as part of a team in a multi-cultural, values driven work environment
· Knowledge of computer programs and previous data entry experience
