Emergency Medical Technician – John Ambulance – Embu

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Respond to all ambulance calls in the shortest time possible
Ensure proper utilization and maintenance of emergency medical equipment
Determine the nature and extent of illness or injury and establish priority for required emergency care
Provide pre-hospital care to patients at the incident scene and in the ambulance within the scope of training
Monitor the progress of patients in the ambulance and record vital information on the patient care report form
Ensure the ambulance has the relevant emergency medical equipment, materials and supplies at all times
Ensure proper handing over of patients to health facilities with proper documentation
Assist in marketing and publicity of the St John Ambulance Kenya products and services
Any other duties that may be assigned from time to time

QUALIFICATIONS
Certificate in Emergency Medical Technician or Paramedic
Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Certificate
Minimum 2 years’ experience in a busy working environment
Valid Practicing /Operating card
Computer Proficiency
The ability to work long hours without lowering the quality of care
The ability to provide care in stressful situations
Strong communication and presentations skills
Excellent time keeping skills
High level of integrity and professionalism
